ABUJA — President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Abel Olumuyiwa Enitan as the new Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HOCSF), with effect from August 27, 2026.
Enitan, who is currently the most senior Permanent Secretary in the Federal Civil Service, is expected to succeed Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, who will retire from office upon attaining the statutory retirement age of 60.
His appointment marks another significant transition in the leadership of Nigeria’s federal civil service and is expected to ensure continuity in the administration and implementation of government policies and programmes.
Enitan brings to the position extensive experience within the Federal Civil Service, having risen through the ranks to become the most senior Permanent Secretary.
Mrs. Walson-Jack’s tenure as Head of the Civil Service of the Federation will formally come to an end with her retirement, paving the way for Enitan to assume leadership of the nation’s civil service from August 27.
