LAGOS, NIGERIA — Heirs Life Assurance, the specialist life insurance company under Heirs Insurance Group, has appointed Pastor Jerry Eze as an Independent Non-Executive Director on its Board.
The appointment took effect on August 10, 2026, and is expected to strengthen the company’s efforts to expand financial inclusion and increase insurance adoption across Nigeria.
Heirs Life said Eze’s experience in community engagement, leadership and social impact will contribute to its goal of building greater public trust in insurance and improving financial protection for Nigerians.
The company noted that insurance penetration in Nigeria remains below one per cent, highlighting the need for increased consumer awareness and access to financial protection.
Commenting on the appointment, Tony Elumelu, Chairman of Heirs Life Assurance, described Eze as a leader with integrity, influence and a strong understanding of communities.
Elumelu said Eze’s insight would help the company strengthen consumer confidence, deepen financial inclusion and advance its mission of making insurance more accessible to Nigerians.
The appointment forms part of Heirs Life Assurance’s broader efforts to promote long-term financial resilience and expand access to insurance services across the country.
