OSOGBO, OSUN STATE — Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, Hope Uzodimma, and other senior members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have arrived in Osogbo for the party’s mega rally ahead of the August 15, 2026 Osun State governorship election.
Also present at the rally are Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo, Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, and House of Representatives member James Faleke.
The rally forms part of the APC’s final mobilisation efforts for its governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, as the campaign period comes to an end.
The event is expected to draw APC leaders, supporters and campaign coordinators from across the 30 local government areas of Osun State.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had fixed August 13 as the deadline for political campaigns following the adjustment of the election date from August 8 to August 15.
Oyebamiji is contesting against incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke, as well as candidates from the ADC, PRP and other political parties.
The mega rally comes amid heightened political tensions and reports of violence in parts of the state ahead of Saturday’s election.
