WASHINGTON, D.C. — Inspector-General of Police Tunji Disu has joined senior Nigerian security and government officials for the United States-Nigeria Joint Working Group meeting in Washington, D.C.
The meeting is being led by Nigeria’s National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, with discussions focused on strengthening security cooperation between Nigeria and the United States.
Key areas of discussion include counterterrorism, intelligence sharing, security coordination and responses to evolving security threats.
The high-level meeting is also expected to provide an opportunity for officials from both countries to review progress in their security partnership and identify areas for deeper collaboration.
The participation of IGP Disu highlights the role of the Nigeria Police Force in Nigeria’s broader security cooperation with the United States, particularly in intelligence-led policing and counterterrorism efforts.
The Washington engagement forms part of ongoing Nigeria-US efforts to strengthen their security and diplomatic relationship while developing practical responses to shared security challenges.
