According to reports by Yahoo and Closer Weekly, General Hospital star Maurice Benard is gearing up for a significant family milestone as he prepares to officiate his second-born daughter Cassidy’s wedding.
The actor shared the news with his followers on Instagram, posting photos alongside Cassidy and expressing his nervousness about the upcoming ceremony. “Friday, my baby girl @cassidybenard is getting married, and I’m terrified!!!” Benard wrote. “Only because I have to officiate, and I’m thinking it’s gonna be through a lot of tears. Wish me luck.”
A Familiar Role for the Soap Star
This is not the first time Benard has stepped into the role of wedding officiant for one of his children. In 2020, he performed the ceremony when his older daughter, Cailey, married Carlos during a Zoom wedding. Reflecting on that experience at the time, Benard shared on social media that it was an honor, privilege, and “very, very sweet” despite never imagining he would marry anyone.
Cassidy and her partner, Anthony Cammarata, became engaged last year following a proposal at Disneyland in Japan. Benard shared a video of the proposal on Instagram at the time, praising the couple by writing, “People talk about soulmates these two are two peas in a pod. I could never see either of them with anyone else I love them both tremendously.”

Maurice Benard and his wife, Paula, share four children: daughters Cassidy, Cailey, and Heather—whom they adopted in 2008—and son Joshua Benard. Their youngest child has previously appeared on General Hospital, playing a younger version of his father’s character, Sonny, as well as college student Adam Wright.
