Infrastructure Push in Tsafe

Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal officially flagged off the construction of a 95-kilometre road network in Tsafe Local Government Area on Sunday. The ambitious infrastructure project is designed to serve as a critical intervention to bolster security operations, improve transportation, and stimulate economic activities across the region.

Project Scope and Connectivity

The road network will connect several key communities, including Yandoton Daji, Cediya, Doka, Yan Waren Daji, Hayin Alhaji Bedi, Unguwar Joji, and Yankuzo to the Tsafe township. The project also includes the construction of five bridges to ensure seamless connectivity. The work has been divided into two phases: SKY Construction Company has been awarded the first 47-kilometre phase, while Setraco Construction Company Limited will handle the remaining 48 kilometres.

Security and Economic Impact

During the ceremony, Governor Lawal emphasized that the project is a central component of his administration’s efforts to restore peace and stability in Zamfara State. By improving road access, the government aims to enhance the mobility of security agencies, allowing for faster response times to threats and attacks. Furthermore, the governor noted that the road passes through predominantly agricultural communities, which are vital to the state’s economy.

“As a responsible government, we are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of our people. That is why we have prioritised this road project as a key intervention to restore peace and stability in Zamfara State,” Lawal stated.

Commitment to Quality

The governor directed the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure to maintain rigorous supervision and ensure that all work meets approved engineering standards. He stressed that the state expects value for money and infrastructure that is built to last. This initiative is part of a broader infrastructure renewal program in the state, which includes ongoing projects such as the Gusau-Magami-Dansadau Road, the Zurmi-Rukudawa Road, and the Mallamawa-Bukkuyum Road.
