Nigeria may be on the path to seeing a higher proportion of female doctors in the near future, according to an Osun Vice-Chancellor. The academic administrator noted that the growing presence of female students in medical programs points to a positive shift in societal attitudes.

According to the reports, this trend suggests that historical cultural barriers hindering girl-child education are gradually being rejected across the country, paving the way for greater female representation in professional fields such as medicine.
