Jalingo, Taraba State — Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has urged members of the National Economic Council (NEC) Implementation Monitoring Committee to provide an objective and factual assessment of projects executed by his administration.Speaking through his Chief of Staff, Dr. Jeji Williams, during the committee’s visit to the TY Danjuma House in Jalingo, Governor Kefas emphasized that truthful reporting would help improve governance, accelerate development, and enhance service delivery across the state.You need to see things for yourselves and report exactly what you have seen. If you report the truth, we shall make the necessary amendments and move to the next level of development,” the governor said.He noted that the monitoring exercise enables both the Federal Government and state governments to evaluate the implementation of NEC resolutions and identify areas requiring improvement. He also described the exercise as a new phase of collaboration focused on accountability, transparency, and effective governance.The leader of the North-East NEC Implementation Monitoring Committee, Dr. Maina Yaumi, said the delegation was mandated to assess the implementation of key NEC resolutions and strategic projects across Nigeria’s 36 states.During the visit, the committee inspected several major projects in Taraba State, including:Ultra-modern abattoirDemonstration farmModern Veterinary HospitalGreenhouse facilitiesAgricultural mechanization centreSpecialist hospital rehabilitationLivestock development centreOkowa Hostel at Taraba State UniversityGovernment House Banquet HallOver 57 kilometres of township roadsHousing project for personnel of the 6 Brigade, Nigerian ArmyDr. Yaumi described the projects as impressive, particularly the investments in agriculture, healthcare, and security, noting that they align with the National Economic Council’s objectives of promoting sustainable development.Also speaking, Bala Musa Giade, Deputy Director at the NEC Secretariat, said the monitoring exercise is designed to assess the implementation of NEC resolutions while encouraging healthy competition among states. He added that the committee had observed significant progress compared to the previous year’s assessment.The Permanent Secretary, Budget, Ministry of Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Mr. Saigudu, said the inspection confirmed that Taraba State is making remarkable progress in implementing NEC resolutions.
